All the teachers had a wonderful and inspiring experience during our in-service this past Thursday.  Visiting the classrooms at Agudath Israel in Caldwell was remarkable.  It was interesting to see another school which follows the Reggio Emilio philosophy like we do.   Based on their example we reorganized the classroom and put out a lot more toys for the children.  The children were very happy with the changes and liked having choices to explore their interests.  They didn’t know what to play with first.  The children are aware of how to respect our space and each other and understand how to put things back before taking a new toy.

We are up to the letter F in our alphabet unit. The children are loving  the songs and projects.

Can you believe the Sunflowers were able to go outside and play?  Although we are not able to run around on the playground yet,  it was great  just to be outside.  Using chalk to draw on the pavement was so much fun.  The children all said that they could see their shadows and that’s what they decided to draw.   The children also enjoyed tossing a ball around and just getting outside to run.   We are looking forward to warmer weather so that going outside will be a regular thing again.

The week is off to a great start.
