The children were so excited to see and count five butterflies in our class. They even saw one eating from the apple.

The children got to choose from loose parts and material to glue onto their own butterfly picture that will be hung up on our art wall.

In preparation for Shavuot, we talk about the mitzvot/rules that were given to the Jewish people. Last week we focused on being kind and loving your friend, ways we can do that is by taking turns with our toys and playing together.

This week we are focusing on the mitzvah of Shabbat. We read the Shabbat box book to the children. We talked about things we need to do to get ready for Shabbat like cook food, shower, clean up, give tzedakah and light two candles to welcome in Shabbat. We discussed all the things we need for our Shabbat meal like a kiddish cup for grape juice and two challahs. Our end of the year party theme is Shabbat. The children have been working very hard to create their own Shabbat box with Shabbat things inside. They used fabric markers to draw pictures on their challah cover. They picked from different color stickers to put onto their very own kiddush up. They braided two delicious challah rolls for their box, and more to come to fill up their special box. We have been practicing Shabbat songs to sing at our end of the year party, Bim Bom and Shabbat is here are a few.

We look forward to seeing everyone for our end of the year party June 7. Please remember to RSVP.

Shabbat shalom,

Morah Blimie and Morah Aimee
