Rabbi Elie and Dr. Rebecca Mischel joined the Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center in August of 2013.
Rabbi Mischel grew up in Monsey, NY and Boston, MA and received rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. Rabbi Mischel also holds a J.D. from the Cardozo School of Law and an M.A. in Modern Jewish History from the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, and is an avid reader, an adequate basketball player and a world class knock hockey enthusiast.
Rebecca Mischel holds a B.A. from Barnard College and received her doctorate in school-clinical psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She currently works as a psychologist at Ben Porat Yosef, a yeshiva day school in Paramus, NJ.
Prior to moving to Livingston, Rabbi Mischel served as the Assistant Rabbi of the Young Israel of Staten Island and as the Assistant Director of Community Initiatives at Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future. He also worked for several years as a corporate attorney at Day Pitney, LLP, a law firm based in Florham Park, NJ.
The Mischels are blessed with three energetic daughters, Klilah, Emunah and Aderet, and one outnumbered son, Uriel.
