Our guest speaker, Major Sagi Dovev, became a reservist in December 2022, and serves as the close combat officer of Sayeret Matkal, a special reconnaissance unit of Israel's General Staff.  On October 7, 2023, his role took a sharp turn from training elite fighters for special missions beyond enemy lines, to identifying critically wounded soldiers who and accompanying them throughout the rehabilitation and treatment process.

Though his experiences over the last 6 months, Major Sagi Dovev has realized that his military service and sports career, as a European jiu-jitsu champion, prepared him for his most important and satisfying work, building resilience, inspiring, motivating and reigniting the spirit of our IDF heroes by helping amputees and others with severe injuries to restore body confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth.
